What to Bring on a Suluada Boat Trip: A Practical Packing List

Our boats leave Adrasan for a long, easy day at sea, yet the southern sun is fierce and there are no shops out by the island. A few minutes of packing the night before makes all the difference. Below is the same list our crew sends to guests before a Suluada boat trip.

A beach bag with sun cream, a hat, a water bottle and a towel floating above it

Pack these first

  • Swimsuit: put it on under your clothes in the morning and you can jump in at the very first stop.
  • Towel: bring one each. A quick-dry travel towel folds much smaller.
  • Sun cream: choose SPF 30 or above, ideally a reef-friendly formula that does less harm to the bays.
  • Hat and sunglasses: white sand and turquoise water bounce the light back at you far more than guests expect.
  • Some cash: drinks from the bar are not included, so carry a few euros or Turkish lira in small notes.

Useful extras

  • Water shoes: handy on pebbly spots like Sazak Bay and on the boat ladder.
  • Your own snorkel mask: around Suluada you can often make out the seabed several metres down.
  • Waterproof phone pouch: keeps splashes off your phone and lets you take pictures while you swim.
  • Something light to pull on: in spring and autumn the breeze on the ride back to Adrasan can turn a little cool.

Leave it at the hotel

Please don't pack food. Lunch on board is part of the day, together with fruit and tea. Passports, valuables and big bags are better left in your room, since a small backpack holds everything you need. Transport is sorted too: our Suluada day trip from Adrasan comes with hotel pickup and drop-off.

Worried about seasickness?

We sail mostly along a sheltered stretch of coast, and our boats are big and steady. If motion bothers you, keep breakfast light, find a seat in the middle of the deck and look at the horizon rather than your phone. Travel-sickness tablets from any pharmacy work best when taken roughly an hour before we leave.

Coming with kids?

Pack spare clothes, a second bottle of sun cream and a snack they love. We carry children's life jackets on board, and the swim stops are calm, so families do well on this trip. Our frequently asked questions cover the rest.
